Accredited Investor Notice
BIM is open to accredited investors only. This page explains what that means and how we handle verification.
BIM restricts investor access to individuals and entities that qualify as “accredited investors” under applicable securities law. This page is a plain-English summary — it does not replace formal legal advice.
1. Who qualifies as accredited
Under U.S. SEC Rule 501 of Regulation D, an accredited investor generally includes individuals with income above certain thresholds or net worth above certain thresholds (excluding primary residence), certain licensed professionals, and institutional entities such as registered funds, banks, and insurance companies. Non-U.S. investors are welcome subject to equivalent eligibility under local law.
2. Self-attestation
During application, you confirm under penalty of perjury that you meet the accredited investor definition. Providing false attestation is grounds for immediate account termination and may carry legal consequences.
3. Documentation review
BIM may request supporting documentation — a letter from a CPA, attorney, or registered advisor; income tax filings; or brokerage statements — to verify accreditation. Documentation is encrypted at rest and reviewed only by authorized staff.
4. Ongoing obligations
If your accreditation status changes (e.g., no longer meets income or net-worth thresholds), you agree to notify us and pause investor activity until re-verification.
5. What BIM is not
BIM is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or underwriter. It does not make recommendations, offer securities, or endorse any specific investment. Deal diligence is your responsibility.
6. Disclaimer
Investing in private businesses carries substantial risk, including total loss of invested capital. Past performance does not predict future returns. You should consult licensed professionals before committing capital to any opportunity surfaced through BIM.
